Deckchair Cinema is available for hire by not-for-profit Darwin based community organisations for fundraising on Thursday nights throughout the dry season.

The fundraising nights are very popular and Deckchair holds a ballot in late January to allocate the nights for the upcoming dry season.  All fundraising nights for 2011 have been allocated.  If your organisation is interested in entering the ballot for a 2012 fundraising night, please contact the Deckchair office for information and entry forms. The 2012 ballot closes January 6th 2011.

If you are allocated a fundraising night, your organisation must pay an up-front venue hire fee.  You can choose a film from our up-coming program, or another movie of your choice (as long as it is available to us).  There will be a film hire fee which is usually a percentage of the box office takings.  After the event, your organisation will be paid the profits from the box office.

Your organisation is required to provide food to sell on the night (we can provide a BBQ if you wish to do a sausage sizzle) and this is a great opportunity to make extra income. You can sell tea, coffee and soft drinks – but no alcohol.  The Deckchair has a licensed kiosk which we will operate on the night.
